Der Roland VR-4HD ist ein komplettes, portables HD-Studio und kann durch seinen Feature-Umfang komplexe A/V-Setups ersetzen. Er ermöglicht Switching/Mixing von Audio und Video mit den bekannt hochwertigen Roland DSPs. Als Controller stehen Fader, Buttons und ein Touchscreen - Interface zur Verfügung. Der VR-4HD integriert einen digitalen Audio-Mixer, Video-Switcher, Multiview Touchscreen, als auch USB-Streaming in einem kompakten Gerät. Dieses komplette HD-Studio eignet sich daher ideal für Schulen, Kirchen, Corporate-Events, Sportveranstaltungen, Meetings, Youtube-Produktionen oder jedem anderen Live-Event. Der VR-4HD besitzt 4 HDMI Inputs (3x 1080p/1080i/720p, 1x Multiformat) sowie 1x RGB/Component, um ältere, analoge Quellen ohne Konverter anzubinden. DSK (Downstream Keying – Luminance & Chroma), Picture-in-Picture, Split- und Quad-Mode gehören ebenfalls zu den Features – ideal für Seminare und Präsentationen.

Zu den Audio-Features zählen unter anderem ein Auto-Mixer (inkl. Priority-Assign), Loop-Back Audio incl. Echo Cancellation und Lip-Sync-Delay. Die Audio-Inputs sind 4x XLR inkl. Phantom Power, Chinch, Mini-Klinke und USB. Die Outputs sind XLR, Chinch, USB und Mini-Klinke für Kopfhörer. Der Audio/Video-Stream kann über USB 3.0 (bei bis zu 1080p) über die für Mac und PC kostenlos erhältliche „VR Video Capture“ Software aufgezeichnet werden. Die ebenfalls kostenlose Remote-Control Software ermöglicht die Bedienung über PC und MAC.
